I'm Melissa.

I am a Colorado Springs based photographer. I’ve always been the person who takes too many pictures. I started with animals because I loved capturing their personalities and all the little things that make them who they are. Eventually, I started doing the same with people and now I get to photograph families, couples, and the animals who are very much part of the family.

I believe the best photographs don’t always happen when everyone is perfectly posed. They happen in the in-between moments—the messy hair, the belly laughs, the quiet glances, the dog who absolutely refuses to cooperate, and all the little pieces of life you’ll want to remember years from now.

I want your photos to feel beautiful without feeling overly staged, and timeless without feeling stiff. More than anything, I want you to look at them years from now and remember what it actually felt like to be there.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me with my own little family, probably outside somewhere, camera in hand and noticing all the details that make ordinary days worth remembering.
